Salary: $55,000- 75,000 based on experience

Position Summary

SEEC Institute is seeking an Operations Manager to build and manage the operational infrastructure that powers our events, compliance processes, and internal systems. This role will serve as the operational backbone of the organization and will involve a mix of administrative, operations, and strategic responsibilities. 

This is a high-ownership role for someone who thrives on creating order from complexity, building repeatable systems, and proactively solving problems. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. 

The position reports directly to the Executive Director.  

Core Responsibilities 

Event Management & External Convenings 

  • Lead execution of conferences, stakeholder convenings, and external events, in conjunction with our Director of External Affairs  

  • Develop and manage timelines, vendor relationships, contracts, and budgets (non-accounting) 

  • Coordinate logistics with partners, and venues, including Congressional offices 

  • Build repeatable event playbooks to streamline future execution  

Internal Operations & Systems 

  • Assist in the design and improvement of internal workflows and operational systems 

  • Implement and maintain SOPs and internal documentation 

  • Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements 

  • Assist with management of operational tools and systems (e.g., CRM, event platforms, project management software) 

  • Oversee vendor relationships and operational contracts 

  • Prepare, submit, and track required ethics documentation for events and engagements, in conjunction with policy and external relations staff 

  • Develop templates and internal processes to ensure consistent compliance execution 

Qualifications 

Required: 

  • 2-5 years of experience in operations, project management, nonprofit management, or a related field 

  • Completed an undergraduate degree; current undergraduate students are not eligible for this role 

  • Experience with complex events with multiple external stakeholders 

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills 

  • Strong written communication skills, particularly for formal documentation 

  • Demonstrated ability to build or improve systems and processes 

  • Ability to manage multiple high-stakes deadlines simultaneously

Preferred: 

  • Experience working with or adjacent to congressional offices, federal agencies, or regulated environments 

  • Familiarity with House and Senate ethics rules

Scope of Role 
This full-time position focuses on operations, compliance, and execution. It does not include bookkeeping/accounting or fundraising/development responsibilities.
